Physical Therapy Aide

Job Type: Part-Time

Physical therapist assistants, sometimes called PTAs, and physical therapist aides work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. They help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain.

Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Administer treatment programs as established by Physical Therapists. Focus on providing the highest quality treatment for patients that allows for excellent patient outcomes. Assess patient condition using knowledge of basic biological and medical science.

Propose treatment goals and objectives. Implement patient treatment plans with guidance from the Physical Therapist. Perform certain aspects of patient evaluation and interventions. Instruct patients on physical therapy interventions, modalities and home exercise programs. Must be a High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy. Licensure typically requires graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program and passing the National Physical Therapy Exam.
