Functions as a member of the medical imaging team providing diagnostic imaging according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Complies with all regulatory agencies’ standards in daily work activities.
Utilizes hospital and department P&P exclusively.
Exam performance: image quality, positioning, technical knowledge, and equipment care and knowledge of operation (trouble shooting).
Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room in which the procedure takes place.
Perform the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle/section that must be assessed.
Evaluate the images for their quality, but also to interpret what was captured in the image.
Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
ARDMS or eligible. High school grad or equivalent. CPR (American Heart Association).
At least one (1) year experience with diagnostic sonography or echo and vascular.
