Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. This population includes patients from pediatric to geriatric. Demonstrates leadership abilities by functioning as a professional role model.
Adheres to all aspects of hospital and ER policies including, but not limited to, punctuality, attendance, professional dress code and use of information systems. Attends ER meetings as well as all mandatory meetings. Provides at least one unit specific in-service. Performs Accu-check according to laboratory policies and procedures.
Coordinates patient care, assists actively in the discharge planning process by evaluating patient needs and making referrals accordingly. Acts as a patient advocate.
Documentation is completed accurately and legibly. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in scope of practice and displays positive time management skills. Performs assigned unit-specific duties to promote smooth operation of the department.
Graduate from approved school of nursing with current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arkansas.
Current certification in BLS and ACLS.
Able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and hospital personnel.
Must be able to work weekends and shift work under stressful conditions
