Starting January 14th, the citizens North of the Metropolitan area will see some major changes in their community health care provider. Rebsamen Medical Center is a non-profit 24 hour acute care hospital owned by the city of Jacksonville. After 50 years of service to their community, we have undergone some recent improvements and will change our name to North Metro Medical Center to reflect the reinvention.
 A new culture of top notch customer service has been the spring board for the improvements. We’ve always provided great care, but now you get your care with a smile. In the past two years we have had 50 hands-on workshops and monthly department goal meetings to get where we are today. When you walk down our hallways there is a completely different spirit. It feels like family and we are finally beginning to hear that out in the community. With our 30% increase in ER patient satisfaction scores, we know that our patients are pleased with the changes. |  |

The change is not only cultural. Rebsamen has also made numerous facility improvements including renovating all public waiting areas, adding a new mammography suite, physicians lounge, and labor and delivery suite. Rebsamen has also invested in state-of-the-art technology including a 40-slice CT Scanner, Philips Ultrasound, and the Depuy total knee-replacement instrument among others.
This spring, groundbreaking will begin on a 1,000 sq foot new ER waiting room and remodeling of the existing admissions area, triage, nurse station, doctor’s dictation, and staff lounge. The front of the building will receive a facelift. For phase two, plans are being finalized for a total remodel of all 40 private patient rooms, surgery suites and nurse stations.
