Open Admissions Policy
It is the policy of North Metro Medical Center to admit and treat all persons without regard to race, color, sex, handicap, national origin, or religious creed. Admission requirements and assignments of hospital facilities are the same for all persons. There are no distinctions in eligibility for receiving any patient care services. Hospital facilities are available to all patients and visitors. Individuals and organizations having occasion to refer patients for admission or recommend North Metro Medical Centerare advised to do so within the hospital’s policy to provide quality healthcare to all persons.

Your Admission
The Registration Desk is located inside the front entrance in the main lobby of the hospital. If you have a prescheduled appointment for admission, it is important that you arrive on time because your physician may have scheduled special tests for you such as blood tests or x-rays. You will be asked to sign a consent form for admission to the hospital and for medical treatment. An identification bracelet for your wrist will also be prepared. At this time you will be taken to the nursing unit to which you are assigned. A nurse will interview you by asking questions about your general condition, diet, allergies, personal habits, and other factors that will apply specifically to the nursing care you will receive. Federal regulations require hospital personnel to inquire as to the presence of an Advance Directive. This includes a living will and durable power of attorney. Information on Advance Directives is provided to every patient upon admission.

Pre-Registration Program
The Pre-registration program allows the hospital to obtain all necessary registration and insurance information prior to your arrival at the hospital, thus reducing the time spent in registration at the time of admission.

The Pre-Registration Program also allows sufficient time to verify insurance benefits and, if necessary, obtain pre-certification approval from insurance carriers.

To take advantage of the Pre-Registration Program contact the Admissions department at (501)985-7000.
