Whether it’s time off from work, sports, or just daily activity that you’re missing, our physical, occupational, and speech therapists want to help you achieve your goals as quickly and safely as possible. A thorough evaluation will be followed by a treatment plan tailored to fit your specific needs and goals. Patient education and involvement are the top priorities throughout your course of care.
Therapy involves a variety of treatment regimens – from highly specific exercises to walking, ultrasound, and assistive equipment – but the purposes are the same: to help patients regain mobility and function that may have been lost or diminished and to reduce or eliminate pain. We primarily treat neuro-muscular skeletal disorders.
North Metro Physical Rehabilitation, which is operated by North Metro Medical Center, specializes in physical, speech, occupational, and manual therapy. The rehabilitation gyms, which are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, feature the newest technology in therapy equipment and greater than 70 years combined therapy experience. We also offer specialized treatments in manual therapy that are difficult to find in Arkansas. Director Joe Farrer and his staff have served as trainers for the Cabot High School football team for over 19 years.
Speech Therapy: Did you know that you use a lot of the same muscles to talk that you use to swallow? Speech Therapy includes teaching people ways to communicate, but it also focuses on swallowing. A Speech Therapist is able to perform a Modified Barium Swallow Study with Radiology to determine your swallowing abilities and determine the safest techniques for you to continue eating.
North Metro offers a wide range of therapy services, available both on an inpatient and an outpatient basis. “People often think they have to drive to Little Rock to receive the therapy services we offer,” says Amy Arnone, Marketing Coordinator. “They’re surprised to learn we have everything right here. In fact our Cabot Physical Rehabilitation Clinic was voted 2010’s Number One Physical Therapy Service in Lonoke County.”
